Exiles Who Returned

My inspiration:

And so it was said, "Hey, I know this place. This is Earth."As if he doesn't live here, this isn't his permanent home, and he only visits when he has to do certain things but it's like this was never his home, or it may have been at one time but now he lives else where, is exploring another universe and being with God.

But what happens when you can't go back?
What happens when the past is full of the demons you created?
Or what happens when people change and places change and home isn't the same?
What happens when home isn't yours or when home isn't waiting for you to return?
And what happens when you don't want to go back? When home wasn't ever safe, what happens if you returned and the demons you created manifested again in your life?
What happens when you cry out louder than the trumpets praising, saying, "This isn't the same as home of old!"
What happens when you ache for home but can't return?

Look ahead! This was never meant to be our home. This was never our true resting place. Our citizenship isn't here but in a place where there are pearly gates. Hasten the day when the Lord will return and take us home.  We will forever be aliens on Earth, invading, doing good and evil, and leaving. For we long for a place that we have never known - our ultimate home.
