Best Friend

12-8-11

Best Friend.
It's the girl who lives forty minutes away from me.
Best friend.
It's the way I come up with magnificent unrealistic dreams and not be afraid to share them with you.
Best friend.
It's how we got so close so quickly.
Best friend.
It's what I call you and hope to call you for the rest of my life.
Best friend.
It's who I run to when I've got a big problem or a little one.
Best friend.
It's the songs we sing to one another, off key or right on sync.
Best friend.
It's what God had in mind when He made you and I.
Best friend.
It's the color red and the most beautiful of songs.
Best friend.
We are "only" forty minutes away, but all too soon we will be states apart.
Best friend.
It's "to infinity & beyond" and "forever&always"
Best friend.
It's just being able to look at you and smile for no apparent reason, except we've got plenty if we need them.
Best friend.
It's writing something simple but knowing it'll touch the deepest parts of you.
Best friend.
It's you making me a special pizza all by your self at Pappa Johns and having "Grasshopper" typed on the sticker that goes on the box.
Best friend.
It's the promises we declare and the ones we swear we won't break.
Best friends.
It's two worlds becoming one.
Best friends.
It's the promise that when we get old, and forget one another's names, we'll be glad to meet each other, again, and again.
Best friends.
It's knowing that I've always got you and you've always got me.
Best friends.
It's Nutella and Peanut butter samiches.
It's the profound love you feel that you sometimes just can't sum up.
It's knowing that one day, if we part, I'll know this will have been the best I've ever experienced.
Best friend.
It's knowing that if this were a song I'd be singing it the loudest.
Best friend.
It's a picture perfect representation of brilliance and beauty.
Best friend.
It's knowing the best and the worst of you, and wanting both.
Best friend.
It's trying to make some parts of this somewhat light, but having so much emotion for you that I just can't.
Best friend.
It's having the same thought at the same time and getting all excited because why not.
Best friend.
It's being able to be young again, with no fear of rejection.
Best friend.
It's mentioning you want someone to tell you a bedtime story and the next minute you're calling me.
Best friend.
It's surprising you and showing up at your work, and saying hello for the first time since we got close.
Best friend.
It's  The Adventures of Padawan and Grasshopper!
Best friend.
It's honey and hot tea, photography and coffee.
Best friend.
It's me and you.
Best friends.
It's memories that will shield us from the impact of distance's gun but not the destruction's shrapnel.
Best friends.
It's the songs that remind me of you.
Best friends.
It's the triplet that grew up on Cypresswood Drive and the girl that was born in Glendale Springs, finally dreaming together.
Best friend.
It's wishing this poem could sum up all I have to say, all my love, for my best friend.
