You're like cancer. You drain me of life and energy. The medicines to fight you claim to help, yet they distort my body with every needle injected. You take and you take and we give the same.
Your name is common and a lot of people have known you but no one would willingly claim you as their own. No one would want to fight you or deal with your destructiveness. You're filthy and despicable. And we have found the antidote to fight you, but it's harder than it sounds. There is pain and losing oneself to begin anew. But the being anew fills one with life beyond beliefs and exceeds expectations.
Like we've heard before, there's beauty in the breakdown, in the brokenness, in the pain and anguish and growing again, there is beauty more radiant than sunshine.
Cancer can be beat. Yet we can also be lost in it. The fight is not for nothing, though. Don't give up. Don't forget. Keep fighting, day by day, and minute by minute, because if you go out fighting, but you yourself never won, that is a victory in itself. Others will be strengthened in your weakness and they too will continue fighting till the end. All is not lost. Everything will be gained.
